Mayor tells provincial minister to slow housing bill with 'dramatic financial implications' for OttawaA change to require the phase\u002Din of new development charges would cut them by $130 million over five years, a letter to the province says. Oh gosh! A politely worded missive?! Wow, Mark! If that doesn't get Queen's Park's attention, I don't know what will! Our new mayor, really fighting for Ottawa here. 🤦‍♂️ StephenBlais With Bill 23 and pandemic funding ending, I think Ottawa will have a significant budget deficit. Politics This Morning: Air execs land in OttawaGood Thursday morning, Transport Minister OMAR ALGHABRA is hosting a summit today devoted to the health of the air transport sector. Employment and temporary foreign workers, possibly. The meeting will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canada School of the Public Service in downtown Ottawa. Alghabra’s office said they expect more than 100 attendees. Emergencies Act double-header This evening, a parliamentary committee struck to investigate the government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act will question the mayors of Windsor, Ont., and Coutts, Alta., as well as lobbying groups for the trucking and vehicle manufacturing industries. (You may recall that the Canadian Trucking Alliance was no fan of the convoy protest movement’s occupation and blockade tactics.) The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., and you can watch it here.  The main event, of course, will be the ot
