'For me, it’s unacceptable that there’s nowhere for women to play.” Christine Sinclair believes Canadian women soccer players need a professional environment to play in Canada.

Christine Sinclair has been a major driving force in growing women’s soccer in Canada, and she’s not done yet.

“I think that’s the next step that needs to happen for this sport in Canada,” Sinclair said Wednesday. “I think, of the top-12 ranked teams in the world we’re the only one that doesn’t have a professional environment for their players to play in. And if we’re going to keep up with the rest of the world, we need to be doing the same as them.

IMO the best approach would be to have two expansion teams join the NWSL. Given their current division structure, I would say the Lower Mainland & Calgary with a third team in another 2 years in the GTA. Start there, give the best 🇨🇦women a place to play at home if they choose..

Why do we need a domestic league?!? We KNOW there aren’t the financial resources to make it viable. Instead, we should be developing proper Academy programs and getting our best players into the leagues in the US and Europe.

Canada can’t even support a men’s league and they want women’s?

She's right

So create one. That’s what the men’s leagues all did. Get off your ass and grow your sport and stop saying other leagues should pay you

It’s not just pros. In Thunder Bay we don’t even have a soccer facility for indoor soccer so for 8 months we cannot even play

She states that a good place to start is MLS partnerships like the US women's soccer league. Sinclair is aware of what is needed to have a Women's league in Canada. Instead, she is advocating for professional destinations in Canada to great grassroots interest in women's soccer.

And what happened to the women's pro-hockey league in Canada and why did that happen? Can't fund a league without support.

I feel a big problem with women’s sport, is that women do not go and support them by purchasing tickets and merchandise. The sad reality is more women know who the next bachelor is, and have no clue who Christine Sinclair is.

Oh Oh. Here comes Trudeau with our money.

Build it and they will...never mind. It will die a long painful death. But the government will spend my money to watch it fail.

Canada eliminated from Little League World Series after loss to Caribbean - Sportsnet.caCanada was eliminated from the Little League World Series following an 8-1 loss to the Caribbean team on Monday. Canada never good enough. Frauds Been watching the LLWS for decades, and it seems like Canada never plays smart, aggressive baseball. No offense, but they always seem timid on the field. As far as today, some of those Curaçao boys looked well past Little League age, imo.
