Human trafficking is profitable, it’s brutal, and it’s only growing in Canada. Over the span of 10 years, police-reported cases of human trafficking have increased 400 per cent. Shocking as that may be, this only represents the tip of the iceberg as much of this form of modern-day slavery remains below the radar and unreported across our country.

Our legislation requires the federal government to maintain a permanent national strategy to combat human trafficking that includes clear objectives and timelines, reviewed every five years, and are trauma-informed.
