Skinner gave up four goals on 21 shots against the Stars in Game 3.

The Edmonton Oilers lost Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals 5-3 to the Dallas Stars on Monday, with Stars’ forwardgave up four goals on 21 shots, a far cry from the one-goal, 22-save performance in Game 2 last Saturday. While he did make some key saves to keep the Oilers in it right to the end, Dallas found ways to put the puck past the Edmonton netminder.

The Stars now lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 Wednesday, and some Oilers’ fans are wondering if it’s worth sitting Skinner for a game, just like the Oilers did in the second round against the Vancouver Canucks. Skinner sat two games, then came back with a vengeance, winning both Game 6 and 7 and helping Edmonton take the series., Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss the performance of the Oilers’ netminder and whether it might be worth going to Calvin Pickard on Wednesday.
