Exactly $981.38 worth of stolen goods were recovered and returned to business on Great Northern Road; 30-year-old charged with one count of theft

A 30-year-old is accused of walking out of a business on Great Northern Road with a shopping cart full of unpaid items.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 11. They soon found a suspect matching the description. Police say they recovered the stolen items — valued at exactly $981.38 — and returned them to the store.Syrette was released on an undertaking and is due back in court on Oct. 23.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
