SHELDON MacLEOD: Delayed bags and hangry travellers at Halifax Stanfield International Airport
We were packed in, belted up and in the air after a half-hour delay. Apparently, there were challenges for the ground crew in getting all the bags into the belly of the plane. That’s always better than not having everyone’s luggage arrive with them, no debate.left us a bit frazzled and hungry. We had decided we’d grab something either at the airport or at the Tim Horton’s on the road leading out to the highway before we set out on our 90-minute drive back home.
And just like the moments after our landing in “deteriorating conditions,” a small round of applause and cheers rolled around the waiting area. We were ready to gather our luggage and get something to eat. There are no services in that area, and you aren’t allowed to leave until you’ve collected your bags and dropped off your customs declaration. So, again, another delay.
