Invites applications for the position of:Reporting to the Director of Programs and Staff the counselor will provide individual and group counselling, advocacy and community referrals to women in the community as outlined below, who in the past have experienced or are currently experiencing sexual assault/abuse. The sexual assault/abuse may have occurred to the survivor as a child or adult.
· Accompaniment to resources where necessary; this may include court, police services and hospital etc.· Masters in Social Work, Psychology or related field, plus two years of relevant experience· Bachelors in Social Work, Psychology or related field plus three years of relevant experience· Working knowledge of treatment approaches for sexual assault/abuse and violence against Women· Must be willing to be available for some evening and weekend workWomen In Crisis Inc.
Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, however, evening work may be required to meet the needs of the organization. Travel may be required throughout the Algoma District.Kelly O’Donnell, Director of Programs and Staff
