A licensed sex therapist sparked a wave of criticism after posting a video online in which she appeared to defend pedophiles.

In the since-deleted YouTube video, titled “Let’s talk about minor-attracted persons,” Miranda Galbreath calls pedophiles “probably the most vilified population of folks in our culture,”Galbreath, whose website claims she has 20 years of experience, including working with sex ofenders in state prisons, said the term pedophile has been “moved from being a diagnostic label to being a judgmental, hurtful insult that we hurl at people in order to harm them or slander them.

She added that she prefers to use “person-first language” which she said “recognizes that any label we apply to a person is only part of who they are and doesn’t represent everything that they are.” Galbreath argued that “minor-attracted persons,” abbreviated as MAP, are people who have not “chosen” to be attracted to children and teenagers, “just as the rest of us have not chosen whatever our attraction is.”Article content

🚨 Licensed counselor and sex therapist advocates for “MAPs” . She says they are “vilified” and “marginalized” and shouldn’t be referred to as pedophiles
