Potentially two of the largest earthquakes ever recorded in Alberta were reported in northern Alberta Tuesday.

According to Earthquakes Canada, two 5.2-magnitude quakes and a 5.8-magnitude quake were reported TuesdayThis image shows the approximate location of a 5.2-magnitude earthquake reported in northern Alberta Tuesday.According to Earthquakes Canada, three seismic events were recorded Tuesday: a 5.8-magnitude quake and two 5.2-magnitude quakes.

"A series of earthquakes has occurred in northwestern Alberta. The largest, a M 5.8 earthquake, was preceded by two M5.2 earthquakes, and followed by several felt events," reads a post on the Earthquakes Canada website. Earthquake reports are often revised. The 5.8 quake was previously reported as a 6.0. Still, a 5.8 earthquake would be the most significant natural earthquake ever reported in Alberta.

The province's strongest natural earthquake — a magnitude 5.4 — occurred in April 2001 near the Alberta-B.C. border, about 40 kmA report posted by Earthquakes Canada pits the location of a 5.2-earthquake about 29 kilometres east-northeast of the hamlet of Reno, Alta., which is about 360 kilometres northwest of Edmonton in the Peace River region and 200 kilometres northwest of Dawson Creek, B.C.A second, more significant quake was recorded around 5:55 p.m. Tuesday near Reno.

It's fracking

Could someone explain to me how this is Trudeau's fault.? (Sarcasm)

That was just lefties stamping their feet over Daniel Smith’s policies

Climate change no doubt!

Prolly caused by climate change and antivaxers

Didn't read the article, but was the CBC able to link this to climate change?

We call them 'Frackshakes' here in Peace River.

Danielle Smiths underlords trying to pull her back down into the abyss from where she came.

You forgot to blame climate change

Blaming Trudeau in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Could’ve been the UN planes, dropping off more WEF payments to NaziNotley

Due to climate change and fracking. In related news, increases in ice cream consumption cause shark attacks. cdnpoli

clearly because of fracking an oil exploration shut it down, no more oil no more tires no more petroleum products. let the middle east ship it to us. climatechange is real

If the fact that fracking causes earthquakes doesn’t wake ppl up, what will? More earthquakes? The land turning into a quagmire? Fires followed by a floods? Seriously Albertans, when will you wake up to what you’re doing to the land you live on?

Fracking will do that.

The oil sands are above the water table in Alberta and are not fraced. Everyone jumps on the oh my god fracing bandwagon and it’s quite pathetic. Have we never heard of an earthquake before? The kids are alright it’s piss all.

Fake news! Sorry, did somebody already defund cbc ?

This story has potential

Well, frack. I didn't want to move back home anyway.

The province of Alberta is literally trying to break itself free from the woke liberals to the east.

I'm sure they are going to put the blame on the liberals

really ? that wouldn`t have anything to do with them 'fracking' up there would it ? poisoning the water....ie

Drill baby drill!

Fracking

You know they were dying to print this. Climate change is causing 2x as many earthquakes in Alberta as the rest of Canada. Karma punishing arrogant Albertans for not bowing down at the alter of climate change.

What the frack is going on?

God is sending a signal... He doesn't like fossil fuels supporters :-)

Danielle and Jason may have had something to do with this.

Nutley will be blaming Smith for this somehow.

or North Korea a little off course..🤔

I felt this! Thought I was having a stroke...

Hopefully Alberta doesn’t need any Federal help
