Senator, Liberal MP move to ban export of live horses for human consumption

A senator and Liberal MP are both trying to ban the export of live horses from Canada for human consumption, a niche industry animal rights advocates say is inhumane. But others argue the ban has more to do with people's discomfort with eating horse.Draft horses, bred for their meat, wait in crates on the tarmac at Calgary's airport. They'll be flown to Japan, fattened up and then slaughtered to be eaten raw.
