'Schitt's Creek,' 'Anne with an E' big winners at ACTRA Awards

TORONTO -- The CBC series "Schitt's Creek" and "Anne with an E" were the top winners at the ACTRA Awards in Toronto.

It's the second consecutive year "Schitt's Creek" won the honour and it comes as the riches-to-rags comedy winds down its sixth and final season. And Cara Ricketts won outstanding performance by a female for playing the sailor's wife on the series, which was cancelled in late November after three seasons.

"Kim's Convenience" star Jean Yoon received an Award of Excellence, and the ACTRA Toronto Stunt award went to Kevin Rushton, who died last year.

abelunsolved Schitt's creek won one award and only one member of the cast showed up. Anne with an E won two awards (best actor and best actress) and the entire crew showed up to support the diverse cast members accepting the award. Maybe give AWAE the credit it deserves 🤔
