Premier Scott Moe, who acknowledged there is systemic racism in Saskatchewan, denounced Brkich's remark and that ‘all lives matter’ is not a viewpoint of his party.

Greg Brkich, who represents Arm River, stated that ‘Brkich, who is not seeking re-election in 2020, used the term to conclude his farewell speech.“My mother has taught me to respect and treat everybody with respect and dignity no matter who they are race, creed, religion, whatever,” Brkich said in a follow-up interview with Global News.Story continues below advertisement

“It might be in the States,” Brkich said. “But if it is, it is, and if people are offended by that I’m sorry. But to me everybody matters. All lives matter.” In the same speech given at the legislature Friday, Brkich said he addressed how he believes political correctness is creeping in and how “it makes it tougher for politicians.”

The MLA for Arm River stood by his remark saying “to me the statement stands.” Brkich has also posted ‘all lives matter’ on his political Facebook page.

All lives DO matter! You have a problem with that?

100% agree. ALL lives, including black lives, matter. I am not white, not black & I’ve experienced racism, by civilians & police, many times over. I was called sand nigger & shoved on the ground by Police, while working for them. My life matters & I am not black. GET IT people.

Western students craft 'advocacy guide' for Black Lives Matter movementInspired by the global movement Black Lives Matters, a recent graduate of King\u0026rsquo\u003Bs University College and a squad of current students have created a guide to advocacy designed to educate the community and support victims of racism. If they really cared, they'd drop out to make room for minority students. That's never happened. I guess posters and social media activism are easier than putting your money where your mouth is. Because students at Western are so oppressed... This movement is becoming stale and less credible with each passing hour...time to move on...
