“I have a deep respect for everybody who serves… I regret that the fact that Admiral Norman had to go through [it]… I regret the fact that the system had to go through this,” Sajjan said in an interview on CTV’s Question Period. “But when something like this happens… you have to respect the independence of the process.”On Wednesday, federal prosecutors stayed the charge citing no "reasonable prospect of conviction.
In a statement on Wednesday evening, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Jonathan Vance said that the stay eliminates the conditions that caused Norman to be relieved of his duties, and he’ll be talking to the newly-vindicated senior military member about his return to work very soon. Sajjan defended the government’s involvement in the case, saying that decisions couldn’t be made “based on feelings.”
Though, he stopped short of offering Norman an apology, something the opposition parties and Norman’s defence team have said is owed to him.
A little late maybe? Shame.
On their watch no dougtht !!!!
No body should ever be in office in Canada unless born here
for as second i thought i reading indian news
Yes, HarjitSajjan , it is very regrettable that Mark Norman’s own (Liberal) government tried to frame him with a crime. I suspect the Parade Marshall (PM) will also regret this fustercluck. He’ll only regret it once....but that will be continuously.
What the Canadian process of buying nothing and having the most underfunded useless Military!!!
If you really mean that you also pay him ten million dallars i bet you judt like your boss JT empty words. You be gone this fall then tge bew government will maje it right.
Not good enough man. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
The thing is, he didn’t HAVE to go through it.
How about giving Mark Norman his job back instead of uttering useless regrets.
I will be happy to burn through this summer if it means I no longer have to listen to you and your party leader...
Norman never 'had to' go through any of this.
Ah! Regrets...
This Minister should be fired!
Trudeau and Werenick Political Interference trying to cancel the supply ship contract, next Trudeau and Werenick Deny the defence a document proving that interference then release it fully Redacted! Where is the RCMP? Are they just a branch of the Liberal Party now?
Then he should make sure that not only is court costs are paid but that he also is adequately compensated for being falsely accused. The government gave Khader 10 million of taxpayer money and for what, his vote of coarse.
BS
And yet u said NOTHING of that to your boss.
He only regrets it, all of a sudden now, because it all went *boom* in their faces! Just another example of LPC panic damage control.
No kidding... another disappointing face of our current Federal Government, second only to JT himself.
Foreign Nationals have no fucking right in our government
Had to go through? It was your government, you twit, who CHOSE to prosecute an innocent man! Can’t wait for this awful government to be tossed.
I’m relatively sure that Vice-Admiral Norman regrets it more.
What is Justin saying?
BULLSHIT!
liberal_party HarjitSajjan JustinTrudeau CPC_HQ A once respected Vet, now disgraced by his leader for having to lie for the OM and Libs... if he didn't lie for the PM and Libs, he would end up fired, like the other Cabinet Ministers for telling the truth! One Term and Done!
Local man attempts to ruin innocent man's life, fails miserably and everyone involved looks stupid.
Oh really?
You and the brat Trudeau put the man th rough.
Sajjan and his Liberal cohorts have no one to blame for their loss this coming October except officials in the PMO and the Privy Council. Oh and let’s not forget their indie dancing Mr Dressup - Trudope himself.
The only thing Sajjan regrets is they got caught.
Regret usually occurs when the end result doesn’t turn in ones’ favour, as was the case here for JT and the Liberals. No doubt, that regret is amplified given their dramatic drop in the polls and the proximity to the Fall election.
NO he doesn’t. He only regrets his leader getting exposed. Trudeau has crossed the borders of decency. He’s an illegal immigrant in the land of people whose intelligence can be repeatedly tested. Canada is open, he said. cdnpoli
If he regrets the process, why didn't he order the material needed for Norman's defence released, and court martial the people actively avoided the access to information act by using stupid code names? The 'architect' of Afghanistan continues to lie to try and look good.
Says that now, he could stopped it.
The architect speaks! 😂😂😂😂
your deepest regret will be in Oct!
No he doesn’t
It's ok for HarjitSajjan to lie to Canadian and take credit when it's not even his to take. Hes the one who should be out.
Your Liberal government is the reason he had to go through all of this. An independent investigation into the abuse of power demonstrated by the Liberals should be mandatory!! But we know that Trudeau won’t allow his party to be investigated by anyone other than themselves.
So much so he hired the CBC reporter that leaked the story. lmao
That’s it? Regrets? Nothing else? How about investigating what really happened?
Wow, Justin won't like that .
Liberals, motto its election time buy votes anyway u can , avoid any scandal with a cover up and pay out
Sajjan says....
HarjitSajjan AndrewLeslieMP Canada regrets that Leslie is not DND in charge
Then he should resign!
AndrewLeslieMP Canadians regret that Leslie is not in charge of DND
And Canadians regret you being in office👎🏻. Bye. October is coming. OneTermTrudeau
Regrets. Everyone regrets after being caught
This guy is as sincere, as his leader is about the welfare of Canada. His departure from government won’t be a tragedy either. Can hardly hold in my excitement as federal elections 2019 draw ever closer.
Question, why did he have to go thru this in the first place?, and why does Trudope not apologizing, only thing he’s seems good at. Seems to more internal BS going on in the liberal party. 🤬🤬🤬
Wish. We had a female Defence minister she would have stood up to the drama boy. Unlike Mr Pooch here
When do we get our pensions
Another corrupt Liberal.
There certainly will not be any REGRETS firing your sorry ass in Oct. TrudeauIsDone liberalsfailed corruption.
You were oroboosrt if the problem
Was complicit
Ya. I bet...
'He regrets'. F.O. We are not idiots Sajjan. Make no mistake about it, Norman would still be in quick sand if not for ?
“Process” - That’s what Liberals now call their abuse of power.
Tell us more reservist clown.
Regrets is not enough, being the minister of DND you should investigate why the Chief of defence was so quick at “charging “ his second in command without any proof.
Sajjan must have been too busy with his 'architecture' to do anything to ensure that Norman didn't get thrown under the bus... in my view this new found 'regret' is a dollar short and a day late...Sajjan should just stick with making up grandiose stories about his own importance
What he really means is that he regrets the process Mark Norman may take him through
pure BS - now give him his job back cdnpoli
