The WORLD is a changing the WORLD IS A CHANGING Electric Cars and Self Driving Cars and Trucks GOOD TIME to INVEST in General Motors Stock 👍👍👍

JustinTrudeau is a great Prime Minister

I really do feel for these employees, but where is the outrage when non union employees get laid off in the private sector? Nobody cares, never makes the news. I have lived through multiple times where entire sales forces were laid off at pharma companies and nobody cared.

liberal gov doesn't care about the ppl who live and work in Canada, it is clear with the way the last budget went, more companies will leave, U.S lowered taxes for small buss. this idiot raised them, wtf is he thinking, certainly not about the ppl in Canada who will be affected

Maybe the politicians should react with free power and tax breaks and for once try and create an economy. All those good jobs pay taxes and buy consumer goods, money is better spent to keep business than social justice and $500 million in media bribes

Corporate welfare $9.7 billion dollars was given to GM from the Obama Admin. They tried Asian markets to expand didn't work, now in deeper trouble poor sales everywhere. Romney was correct back when they first came to the trough.

Blaming & finger point politicians for Oshawa GM closure is not going to help anyone. It’s time for Canadians must focus on economic & business Canadians can manage & control. Our provincial, federal, local & special interest groups must work together for the national interest.

Take a look around you. I barely see any GM vehicles anymore in comparison to Toyotas or Hondas. If no one buys them, how can they afford to keep plants open?

Oooh! That really hurts! 'Merry Christmas' G.M.😒

Most of us are driving around in Toyota's. Hyundai's Honda's and Mazda's. Yet we are shocked that GM is closing down a plant? If we were buying GM vehicle's, the plant would not be closing. It always comes down to supply and demand.

Finally, something worth taxing, a big tax on any imported GM products untill we get our money back.

Industrial revolution 4.0 is approaching. Are we on the bench wagon?

If you voted for Baby Huey to be the premier, this is what you get I'm afraid.

Any political leader in Ontario, and Canada that is 'surprised' and 'shocked' by this news should resign today. You have not been paying attention and not doing your job! End of story. Don't come out today and say that you're sad, and heart felt crap! Too late. Ship has sailed!!!

Maybe all that money Justin will give to journalism can be used to create REAL work for these families. This is more important.

But consider shop rent expensive, so choose the corridor shop.

GM trying to fleece taxpayers into another bailout. South Korea as an example. Article February 2018. 'GM plant shutdown shocks South Korea'

Anyone remember Chrystia Freeland saying 'No plan is better than a bad plan? ' Well folks , over the next year we will start to see the effects of her f**king bad plan. Brace yourselves it aint gonna be pretty.

Oshawa knew not to depend on GM being there in the long run, the writing has been on the wall for years.

Never mind that, sue GM! The funds will be needed to pay for all the resultant EI claims and other costs to the economy

This is a slap in the face to everyone involved: tax payers for subsidizing them, politicians who tried to work out deals to keep them here, and their employees.

GM shutdown doesn’t have to make ghost town out of OshawaLessons from rustbelt towns like Flint and Detroit can help revitalization – if diversity and education become priority That's because ghosts need jobs too. They're all moving to Mexico to work in the booritos industry. Don't know why they wouldn't offer to use Canada's lithium to make batteries for cars and the cars themselves. If your not on board with electric your non essential..... Elon Musk is going to retrofit the plant and start making Tesla trucks there. You didn't know?

GM to close Oshawa plant along with four others in U.S.Workers at the General Motors plant in Oshawa, Ont., have stopped working as they wait for details on the company's plan to close the facility. I would definitely avoid the purchase of a new Cadillac XTS, Impala, GMC sierra or a silverado now that the Oshawa plant is shutting down. Worker morale will be extremely low, there will even be contempt among the workers resulting in cars purposely built with less care. Not a good news These 2 guys still get paid ......nice work Jerry Dias

GM meets with Ontario and feds, says it will still close Oshawa plantGeneral Motors says it has reaffirmed plans to close the Oshawa Assembly Plant in meetings with the Ontario and federal governments. Maybe they should pay back what the owe Canadians. Pricks. Now court. Years back 3500 Ford assembly jobs left St.Thomas, ON... and went to Mexico. WHY? $45/hr effective UNION wage rates+pension liabilities on a 35 y.o. plant. Jobs went to MEXICO, then. So, I ask, what did the U N I O N learn? Wage rates HAD to decrease to retain the factory! end
