Just over $162,000 in funding helped Sault Lock Tours buy the 100-passenger Miss Marie

On Wednesday morning, Sault MPP Ross Romano announced funding of $162,750 toward the new tour company's purchase a 100-passenger boat - called Miss Marie - which has seen a return of a Canadian-owned tour boat operation on the St. Marys River.The Ontario government is providing $162,750 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to Sault Lock Tours in Sault Ste. Marie. This investment is helping establish a new company, create employment and boost tourism in Northeastern Ontario.

Sault Lock Tours received $162,750 to purchase the Miss Marie – a 100-passenger vessel – and establish a tour boat business. The company offers both a morning and afternoon hour-and-a-half cruise on the waters of Lake Superior and the St Mary's River. The boat can also be chartered in the evenings for private events, such as weddings and corporate meetings.
