As part of the Charlotte Street reconstruction, Townsend Street between the Esplanade and Bentinck Street in Sydney will be closed for much of the coming week.
In a statement on Saturday, Cape Breton Regional Municipality said the section of the downtown street will close beginning at 7 a.m. on June 11. It's expected to remain that way until the end of the day on June 14 — except in the evening, when the street would temporarily reopen. Northbound traffic will be redirected through Byng Avenue, while southbound traffic will go through Wentworth Street.
