The Cowichan Valley Regional District announced Friday that it has moved from Stage 1 watering restrictions to Stage 2 for all watering systems.

The new regulations currently apply to the City of Duncan, Cowichan Valley Regional District, Cowichan Tribes, Town of Lake Cowichan, Town of Ladysmith, Diamond Improvement District, Stz’uminus First Nation, Mill Bay Water District, and Cowichan Bay Waterworks.

Under Stage 2, residents are only allowed to water lawns, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, and flower gardens for two hours maximum, one day per week. Even-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays and odd-numbered addresses are permitted to water on Sundays, according to the CVRD.

Todd Etherington, operations manager for the water management division of the Cowichan Valley Regional District, said in a press release that the conditions are drier now and water conservation is needed. “While we experienced a wet spring and were more fortunate than our previous two summers, the recurring summer drought for eastern Vancouver Island has caught up with us and we now need to begin even more rigorous conservation measures,” said Todd Etherington, operations manager for the water management division of the Cowichan Valley Regional District.

Liberals aren't out of the wood either. Opposition Parties should be Liberals, Conservatives, and neither being the Official Opposition Party. Learn from your mistakes, don't repeat them over and over again. Good, time to start moving LTC patients out of hospitals is now.
