Nearly 150 New York City police officers committed misconduct, including using excessive force, while responding to the 2020 protests over the killing of George Floyd, according to a report released Monday by a civilian review board.

The city's Civilian Complaint Review Board, or CCRB, also found that many officers disciplined by the police department received punishment that was less than the panel recommended, and in some cases officers found to have committed misconduct were not disciplined at all.

The document describes, for example, police actions during one protest in Brooklyn on May 30, 2020, that drew numerous complaints. "Protests against police brutality bred more instances of police misconduct," Arva Rice, the review board's chair, said in a statement. "If this misconduct goes unaddressed, it will never be reformed."The NYPD said it objects to many of the board's characterizations. In a statement, it said many, if not all, of the review board's recommendations already have been implemented in response to the department's own review and proposals by other agencies.

19 dead in 2 weeks during GF “protests” and BLM riots, some police. Dead cops over looting. What’s the real problem here?

Fantastic job by the police! 150 is damn near zero, but of course that would take some effort on our useless MSM's part and be against the narrative. 36,000 officers, 50 interactions per day is 18 million interactions over a 100 day period. 150/18 million is pretty much zero!

Lmfao nobody's going to be a cop soon

*That we know of

The riots were a waste of time

You mean they were defending themselves from the mostly peaceful protesters.

I bet if you put that in % baseb on number of citizens, police officers and police-citizen encounter, Canada is worse.

🤔 hmmmm…..

No mention of misconduct on the part of the rioters I guess...

150 more cases of why people were protesting these douche cops to begin with

honestly, who is surprised anymore...

Excellent job

If cops were smart they’d pick better and more lucrative careers.

*in 2020 George Floyd riots… Now, do the number of rioters who ‘committed misconduct’.
