Police have made an arrest following a crime spree that the say stretched from St. John’s to Gander.They allege that 39-year-old Garry Ivany of Gander broke into a funeral home and stole a vehicle from inside.

From there the crime spree headed to Clarenville. They say Ivany then stole a quantity of tools from Canadian Tire, a cart full of merchandise from Wal-Mart, cash from the Clarenville Inn, and gas from the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Manitoba Drive.Then on Thursday morning, the stolen vehicle was found at a home in Glenwood.

Just after 6:15 a.m. Friday, RCMP say Ivany broke into the Orange Store on the TCH in Gander and stole a large quantity of cigarettes from inside.Ivany was arrested Friday night at an apartment complex in Gander. He appeared in court on Tuesday to answer to a long list of charges related to theft and breaches of court orders.Related Stories
