Subject of emergency alert message arrested - May 2, 2024 | SaltWire #dartmouth #update #suspectST. CROIX, N.S. — Mounties in West Hants are asking for the public's help after two suspicious incidents where children were approached in St. Croix.
On April 30 at around 8 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of two men in a black SUV approaching two children riding bikes in the area. Police said at around 7:30 p.m., an SUV approached the kids on Sylvia Drive, with one occupant yelling at them for riding on the wrong side of the road. Later on Hartville Road, the SUV returned, and the passenger offered the children candy.The children quickly rode to a nearby house, and the SUV drove off towards Ellershouse Bridge on Highway 1. No one was injured.
The passenger is described as a white male with grey hair and a beard, wearing an Xbox ball cap, sunglasses and a long-sleeve grey shirt. The driver is described as a black male, also wearing sunglasses. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to find the men. On May 1, the RCMP responded to a similar report, which turned out to be a misunderstanding.
The investigation into the April 30 incident is ongoing, and Mounties would like to speak with the individuals involved.
