The $0.40 increase has left minimum wage workers frustrated, saying it wasn't enough. Maxime Dmitrienko, a worker at NDG grocery store Esposito's, said the change won't change his situation.
Dmitrienko said he fears the store's prices could rise to cover the wage increase, a worry echoed by his boss. “The person that's been working for a year or two or three has to be increased as well, because it's not fair if someone walks through the door and gets a job and starts making the same as someone who's been there for two or three years.”
Put in 120 hours a week and theirs a good living to be made.
Yeah not enough
People don’t realize any increase to the minimum wage is directly passed on, increasing the costs of goods and the cost of living across the board, effectively making the wage increase mute, but making it more expensive to live for those slightly above the min wage. Bad all over.

Minimum wage goes up, subsequently costs to businesses go up, prices for consumers go up and we are back where we started.
It's still not a living wage.
Should be $20

This is extremely bad news for the City of Ottawa
Higher minimum wage = more unemployment = more inequality
On June 1, 2021 the minimum wage in BC rises from $14.60 per hour to $15.20 per hour. The sky is not falling.
Not enough.
