Public meeting scheduled for proposed Manitou Park development

The city will hold a public meeting later this month regarding an application to rezone the former Manitou Park Public School to low- and medium-density residential.The lot was purchased by five local developers under the name Manitou Developments, Inc. in 2021 for $100,000. It is currently zoned Institutional.

Granting an R4 zoning would allow developers to build up to a five-storey apartment building. Three-storey apartment buildings are not allowed under R3 zoning. A public notice posted by the city says currently two 10-unit apartment buildings are planned, for a total of 20 apartments.
