PSAC is asking for a 4.5 per cent annual raise over three years. PSAC National President Chris Aylward said this round of bargaining will come down to wages.

Last May, PSAC declared an impasse in bargaining with the government, noting in a news release that their wage offer averaging 1.7 per cent per year over a four-year agreement was “insulting” given record-high inflation. The government has since increased the offer to an average of 2.06 per cent per year.Article content

PSAC is asking for a 4.5 per cent annual raise over three years. Aylward said this round of bargaining will come down to wages, noting that offers will have to keep up with the rate of inflation. Salem noted that the government has already signed an agreement with the Association of Canadian Financial Officers that includes wage increases of more than 10 per cent over four years.
