A new survey found that a majority of Black employees worry that progress that has been made on anti-Black racism in the workplace could be set back by a recession.of 1,001 Black Canadians working in a variety of industries suggested that employers have made some strides in tackling anti-Black racism in the past year, with many respondents seeing more opportunities for advancement and promotion.
But the survey also found respondents fear those gains could be set back or erased by an economic downturn.
It should be no surprise that if you were hired or promoted in the name diversity, equity and inclusion instead of on merit, that you would worry about job security. The people surveyed are worried about reality kicking in during a recession.
