Charles DavisJohn “Jack” Babcock was born in Ontario in 1900, and enlisted for the First World War at the age of 16. He was sent to Europe, but wasn’t allowed to fight on the front lines because he was too young.

The Edmonton Journal visited Babcock in February 2008, when he was 107 years old. John Babcock died in February 2010, at age 109.Mary Prescott enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps on her 18th birthday in 1943 after a talent scout heard her sing. She performed for thousands of Canadian troops in Holland, Belgium and Germany during WWII. Her ability to use music to lift the spirits of others continued throughout her life. The National Post published this video in November, 2016.

The Regina Leader-Post published this video in February 2015.Anneliese Pittroff died in September 2019. She was 92.T. Garry Gould served as a tank commander in France and Belgium during World World II. While in action, he was shot multiple times, and one of the bullets stayed in his shoulder for the rest of his life. He shared his recollections of his time at war and hope for future generations. This video was published by the Montreal Gazette in 2012.
