“Canadians are telling us that mental health support is most important to them and yet, many employers are primarily focusing on the compensation side of recruitment and retention strategies and providing well-being support for physical health first,” said Stephen Liptrap, president and chief executive officer of Morneau Shepell. “Mental health is not the same taboo topic it once was, and employees are not only prioritizing their own mental health but also expecting employers to do the same.
“Conversely, a very small number of employees indicated a decrease in mental demands during the same time frame,” according to the survey, which polled 8,000 people across Canada, United States and the United Kingdom.
I’ve been saying for years “nurses are overworked and overpaid“! And that they should all agree to a 10% drop in pay in order to hire more staff! You can extend that to the whole workforce.
Basic respect and even adherence to policy? That's what's currently killing my workplace; one rule for me, another for thee and no trust.
