91% of business leaders say they need more tax incentives or credits: survey

KPMG LLP surveyNinety-one per cent of leaders at medium-sized firms said they need more tax incentives or credits to pay for investments in innovation, digital transformation, and research and development.

“In this next phase of growth, Canada’s commitment to transition to a greener and more inclusive economy will require close collaboration with the private sector to help ensure the effectiveness of investments in people, industries, and advanced technologies,” said Iacovelli. Businesses also said they continue to require COVID-19 relief. Eighty-eight per cent said they used government support programs for assistance during the pandemic, and a majority said they “won’t make it” without some more help.
