Surrey RCMP investigators allege woman used social media to fence stolen clothes

A Maple Ridge woman has been busted for allegedly reselling designer clothes and other stolen merchandise from her home.

The Surrey RCMP North Community Response Unit conducted the search as part of an investigation into possession of property obtained by crime. The woman is alleged to have advertised the stolen goods for sale using Facebook Marketplace. She is believed to have been selling items at a significant discount from the original retail prices, say police. The woman is also alleged to have set up a retail-style storefront within her home to facilitate the selling of the stolen goods."If the deal is too good to be true, it probably is, and we are asking buyers to be aware," said Staff Sgt. Nigel Pronger, NCRU commander.
