Lily MacDonald got the chance to go for a drive in a fire truck after receiving an award from Muscular Dystrophy Canada. - Adam MacInnisLily MacDonald was just a small child when her grandfather, Bernie McKeough, passed away, but he left a big impact on the girl.Her grandfather had Muscular Dystrophy and after he passed in December 2015, she decided to start fundraising in his honour.

Shelley McWilliams, who presented the award on behalf of Muscular Dystrophy Canada, praised Lily’s efforts as she gave her the award and said she had met Lily’s grandfather. Lily says what motivates her is knowing she can make a difference for others – ”knowing I helped someone out there get a new wheelchair or a cushion or ramp,” she said.“They had a really special bond,” Bernadette said.

“He had a lot of people that really loved him. All those people every year circle around us,” Bernadette said.
