Pittsburgh Penguins general manager and president of hockey operations Kyle Dubas announced that the club has agreed to terms with forwardThe Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Blake Lizotte to a two-year contract.Lizotte spent the 2023-24 regular season with the Los Angeles Kings where he registered seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 62 games. Lizotte added one goal in five Stanley Cup Playoff contests.
Lizotte was an undrafted free agent signing out of St. Cloud State in 2019. In 76 career NCAA games, he tallied 22 goals, 47 assists and 69 points. Lizotte cracked the Kings roster almost immediately, having now played six seasons in L.A., and just one AHL game in his career. Throughout his NHL tenure, Lizotte has tallied 37 goals, 69 assists and 106 points in 320 games. His best offensive output was in the 2022-23 campaign where he compiled a career high 34 points in 81 games.
The Lindstrom, Minnesota product joins Nathan Clurman, Emil Bemstrom, Anthony Beauviller, Boko Imama and Matt Grzelcyk as the day-one free agency signings by Dubas and the Penguins.
