Cam Newton's season is officially over.

The 30-year-old quarterback was diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury in his left foot after the Panthers’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in September.

Newton originally hurt his foot during the pre-season, but suited up for Carolina’s first two regular-season games. He has missed the team’s last five games. Newton travelled to Green Bay, Wis., last Friday to get a second opinion with renowned foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said at the time that Newton had done everything he could in his rehab process to get back to 100 per cent.
