Stu Neatby • The GuardianAs the fall session of P.E.I.’s legislature winds down, the Dennis King government has announced a volley of housing and efficiency programs.

The renovation of Smith Lodge in Charlottetown to accommodate 13 additional transitional housing units.An interest-free loan program for the purchase of efficient home heating equipment for homeowners. Liberal MLA Gord McNeilly noted that in 2020 the King government had promised 28 units of transitional housing at Smith Lodge on Weymouth Street in Charlottetown. The plans for this location changed multiple times since then.

Summerside MLA Lynne Lund noted that 31 affordable housing units were announced more than a year ago on Lefurgey Avenue in Summerside by the King government. These have still not yet been completed.
