Canada’s electricity sector has already achieved a 40-per-cent reduction in GHG emissions since 2005. During this period, the total amount of renewable electricity generated from water, wind and solar has increased by 20 per cent. But each of our renewable electricity sectors has much more to give.
At the same time, the cost of wind and solar power in recent auctions in Alberta and Saskatchewan has reached new lows that were unimaginable as few as five years ago. Importantly, tremendous synergies exist among all of these renewable energy resources. Wind and solar complement one another, especially when linked with energy storage options such as water power reservoirs and waterways, or increasingly affordable lithium ion batteries. Wind generation is strongest at night and in winter, while solar performs best during the long daylight hours of the northern summers.

globebusiness We don't need you telling us that, we already know. Tell that to the greedy dirty-fingered corrupts who are making money hand over fist from companies buying 'offsets'. Until they are forced to adapt, it will continue. How about that bastard Butts anyway? You know exactly why!
globebusiness The only reliable renewable energy is biomass . The love affair with wind and solar will end badly .
globebusiness It should also be the usa... China... russia... etc....

globebusiness WRONG!!! what strategy we're the only country in the world to follow such lunacy .. wake up people, we're wasting our days on stupidities...we are already the cleanest country in the whole world!!
