Ontario has much at stake in Japan’s losing EV race. Japan has ceded its leadership in consumer electronics. It’s in no one’s interest it follow that path in autos, not least the Ontario communities with a stake. Opinion by TheGrtRecession

Japan is at risk of losing the race in all-electric vehicles . And that poses a danger for southern Ontario, with its three Japanese auto plants.only three are Japanese vehicles.

To be sure, most automakers still produce hybrids. And the Japanese industry makes some first-rate battery electric vehicles. It’s a matter of emphasis. In de-emphasizing battery electric vehicles, the Japanese industry risks sidelining itself in a $2.6-trillion auto industry that is adopting the technology at an accelerating pace.

In fairness to the decision makers in Tokyo and Toyota City, hardly anyone anticipated the recent increase in battery electric vehicle adoption rates. The battery electric vehicle adoption rate for the European Union, which has banned the sale of internal combustion engines and hybrids by 2035, is closing in on 30 per cent by 2025.

In last year’s weak North American market for auto sales, Canadian sales of Toyota vehicles dropped by 12 per cent, while Ford sales dipped by just one per cent.

TheGrtRecession It really doesn't have to be one or the other. For urbanites an EV makes perfect sense but the lack of infrastructure in rural areas makes a Hybrid the better option. Maybe Toyota & Honda aren't that far off. As for electronics, the best stereo equipment still comes from Japan.

Not everyone is in favour of private surgery clinics in OntarioConcern expressed about whether private clinics would lure more doctors and nurses away from hospitals How many specialists graduate that can't get surgery space in a hospital? Imagine if a private clinic had a staff of orthopedic surgeons doing only hip/knee surgery. Instead of waiting months/years, imagine if it could be done in weeks. Staff shortages can't be the issue since nobody from the hospital admin/MSM/politicians/unions complained when staff were fired for not taking the vaccine, even now knowing it doesn't stop transmission or infection.
