A huge bonus for Alberta’s medical officer of health has health-care workers seething. It must have felt like a harsh slap in the face to nurses, who were told the government was seeking a 3% cut wage cut during the pandemic. Opinion by GillianSteward

Doctors, nurses and other health care workers across the country are struggling to treat patients flooding into hospital emergency departments. It’s all part of the pandemic squeeze and it’s no different in Alberta.

“It seems to us that it’s just an indication of: we will treat front-line workers one way and we’ll treat senior people in a completely different way and that’s troubling,” said David Harrigan, labour relations director for the United Nurses of Alberta.as listed in the public service sunshine list for 2021, a government communications officer said Hinshaw deserved it because she worked so much over time.

Predictably, dropping all restrictions led to another serious COVID-19 wave, along with high hospitalization and death rates and more work for health care providers. At one point during that wave Alberta had a COVID-19 death rate three times the national average.

Opinion | Ford government plans more low wages for women health care workersThe Ford government plans more low wages for women health care workers. Ontario continues to pursue a low-wage strategy for the female health care workforce, a strategy that is quickly demolishing health care in Ontario. Opinion by Xolisiwe Ndlovu The Ford government wants to privatize healthcare. They are intentionally making this worse. What a fake story. “Plans more low wages”. Is a complete fabrication LITERALLY 100% illegal. So that tells me this is a leftwing Propaganda PEICE.

Opinion: We need a better understanding of race, 'status' and indigeneity in CanadaChallenging Indigenous identity fraud in academia must name and focus explicitly on structures of whiteness, white entitlement and settler colonialism so we don’t recreate the harms of past policies. We are all heading into the genetic blender. It makes little sense to try to precisely define or track who qualifies as 'indigenous'.

Opinion: Repurposing LNG infrastructure for hydrogen exports is not realisticCanada’s dash to build new LNG infrastructure to export hydrogen is scientifically baseless and risks locking itself and Germany into a fossil-based economy A scientific perspective & otherwise good article ... but which starts & ends with opposition to LNG on purely ideological grounds The authors actually make the case *for* LNG & are seemingly unaware that Canada's liberal_party gov't is particularly clueless on the energy file That is the stupidest thing I have read today. Leave it to the experts and industry, they have already proven every battery pro is an actual lie. Batteries are not a climate or jobs plan either. They are a profit plan for the mining/metals/chemicals/auto companies. The only way to actually do it is with green hydrogen and FCEVs. Green H2 requires all the same skills as O&G, no jobs lost. FCEVs require far more workers.

Opinion: Russia’s military is failing because of bad planningGiven its presumed technological capabilities, why has Russia’s invasion of Ukraine been hampered by failures in its electronic warfare operations? And corruption Looks like they're winning by pretty much any standard. That's what happens when only 30% of aid gets where it's supposed to go and the other 70% gets stolen or embezzled by Ukrainians.
