The Ford government will introduce new legislation to rescind Bill 28, the Keeping Students in Class Act. It is expected to receive unanimous consent from all parties to push it through.

Premier Doug Ford is set to repeal the controversial bill that ordered 55,000 striking school staff to return to work and imposed a four-year contract on them — sparking an outcry from the labour movement — as talks with their union continue.

“Repealing Bill 28 is important for maintaining the fundamental freedoms of all workers here and across the country, and for the credibility of the Ford government.” Premier Doug Ford backed away from Bill 28 last week, after CUPE’s support staff walked off the job for two days in spite of the legislation banning strikes. His use of the “” to impose a contract was met with widespread criticism, especially among both public and private labour unions.

Under Bill 28, daily fines were set at $4,000 per individual and $500,000 for the union — or more than $220 million a day,“We will be limiting our comments to the media while in mediation to better direct our efforts to reaching a freely negotiated agreement,” said CUPE, which initially engaged in transparent bargaining by posting all offers and information online.

He and Trudeau should be embarrassed for turning Ontario into a cannabis haven. There are so many cannabis stores in my city, its ridiculous. Ontario now looks like a province of losers who just want to be impaired. A lot of men in Ontario also smell horrific now. Sad.

bill 28 , the crow, will ,ca,ca,ca, three times,

It’s time to put kids, parents and taxpayers first…NOT unions and teachers. Better that the kids miss more school if it means ending the union’s control of education.

So everyone has a problem now with government with this bill forcing them to go back to work lmao but want him to force mandates on people. You liberals are actually on the spectrum of retardation

Wish the union would be flexible with their demands.

Most teaching union staff should be fired, they and their extreme socialism ideology should set no where near our kids.

Ford said Ontario is open for business....if so...Get the childrens medical products on shelves......

1.1m followers and almost no comments you liberal hacks

Conservatives in Canada are OUTRAGED over the use of the Emergencies Act to clear the convoy, but are perfectly ok with Doug Ford using the Notwithstanding Clause to overrule people's rights?

Yes they could. It shows their interest in their positions. I think it's called poor losers. But I don't trust either one of them ! Calculating scum !

Curious how they could ram through the bill in less than 5 days...but now take their time to repeal...They could've repealed it the next day
