Ontario reports 18 new COVID-19 deaths, ICU occupancy hits new 1-month low

Three of the deaths involved residents of the long-term care system.

“We’re in a better place than we were – I am cautiously optimistic that we’ll have a better summer as the weather improves,” he said. “It’s way better to be outdoors than indoors – we all need to get our mental, physical and social wellbeing back.” The Ministry of Health said there were 1,453 people testing positive for COVID-19 admitted to hospitals across Ontario on Friday, down from 1,662 one week ago.It’s the lowest overall ICU burden caused by COVID-19 the province has seen since April 9.

Ontario CMO now says 'he never agreed the province would see a high of 600 COVID patients in ICU during the 6th wave.' He's trying to cover his behind. This is despite the fact that all their earlier fearmongering predictions turned out to be wrong.
