Ontario NDP promises to lower auto insurance rates by 40 per cent if elected

Horwath said she would ban rate increases for 18 months while a commission investigates and recommends a new system.

The commission would explore the no-fault insurance systems in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia and Quebec’s public and private hybrid system, she said. “We’ll continue to look for ways to make auto insurance accessible and affordable and fair for people regardless of where they live in this province,” he said at a campaign stop in Toronto.

The only way the OntarioNDP will lower insurance costs is to offer a government funded insurance company just like in BC. In recent years the cost of insurance have skyrocketed in BC because of a blotted bureaucratic system. Welcome to the NDP world with more government.
