The deal between the federal Liberals and New Democrats to keep the Justin Trudeau government in power is prompting questions about whether a similar pact in Ontario could stop Doug Ford from a second term as premier.

Premier Doug Ford's PC party could use prospect of 'coalition' to scare off soft Liberal voters.

Please AndreaHorwath StevenDelDuca, Ontario needs you both to work together otherwise we will have another fordnation government. VoteThemAllOut2022

One can only hope.

I know this is petty to say, but I find all of the Ontario leaders off putting. I’ll obviously vote, but not one of them makes me happy to do so.

The world is always a better place when regressive conservatives are in power.

Great idea, do it. It worked in BC with the NDP and the Greens.

They forgot how and where Ford got over 55% of votes in the last election.

Oh help us all!!!

Thé deal between the LIBERALS and NDP brings most of all stability which was badly needed to get things done in Ottawa . Both leaders understood that ! Thank you to both Jagmeet and Justin.

First we have to avoid electing Tories, by not splitting the opposition in our ridings! Tory riding - Vote for the party that came second last time. All other ridings - Vote for the incumbent. onpoli leadnowca

Or let the voters decide?!?…

chuddles11 Good.

Do it

It should, and it is democratic to do so. Ford won a majority due to low turnout. He represents too few citizens. He has an antipathy toward the majority. It's less representative than an actual coalition of the left. They would represent over 70% of Ontario. Let's get it done.

We need to do everything we can to keep Ford out. I will never vote for Ford

I’d love to see this. Otherwise we could see another 4 yrs of dodo

Yes please! Let’s get Ford out!

Gosh I hope so.

Then why there should be two parties participating in the elections, just participate as Liberals & NDP then see who wins..? Canadian politics are literally going down.

Make a deal and stop ford

Yes please!

Actually that question was already prompted by Karl months ago.

Please no! That's my guarantee to never vote liberal or NDP. Not until the laws change.

This system is becoming a democracy in name only.

You don't try to hide your political affiliations very hard, do you?

Not delduca. That troll gets in, everything’s over.

I would like to see Del Duca win the next election. But if that doesn't happen, anything that keeps Ford out of the driver's seat is a good plan. Ontario cannot afford 4 more buck a beer buffoon years.

we now have a new party,, the NDPL. controlled by sock boy

Jesus, that would be hilarious.

Why do some people just have to look like supervillains?

I thought that was already settled

I think if the NDP had meetings with masks on they take this one AndreaHorwath

GeecJohn Alberta and Ontario should make a pact and vote NDP in AB and Liberal in ON, win win for both Provinces!!

It only keeps him in power for his democratically elected term in office. No more than that. I hope these NDP/Liberal collaborations continue to grow into the future.

The parliamentary systems allows for political reps to combine depending upon the issue.

The goal of both parties before an election is to win. They should be working on that. Talk about issues rather then get caught up in the BS.

How much were you paid by the provincial liberals?

Won’t do any good after the election. Needs to happen before

Socialist wet dream.

If there were two actual decent leaders to do it, why not? Unfortunately in this round there isn't.

If they don't do it, I'll never vote for either again so feel free to do whatever with that information.

The NDP is a complete joke. They lost to Ford who was a last minute replacement. Also anybody who was around when Rae was premier knows how bad they are.

DO. IT.

roegue7 DelDuca is going to beat Ford outright, but this is a good plan B.

It won't happen until the NDP finds a leader who puts the public good above personal ambition so we're stuck with Ford and his crooked crew for the foreseeable future.

If they do that might as well run as one party so ppl know what their voting for.

Wrong question to ask at this stage. Political parties play to win the most seats and govern. Only when no party gets a majority is there talk of confidence arrangements like the current deal at fed level, or coalition. Wait for the votes to be counted

That would be great. Ford has to go.

Make it happen! VoteFordOut2022 NeverVoteConservative NeverVoteppc repelbill124

Maybe if the Libs abandon their crooked drive for ranked ballots and agree to proportional representation.

It would, only if Ford came up short with a precarious minority.

Do deals like these undermine the democratic process by creating an alternate government to what was actually voted for? And at minimum can it make strategic voting backfire?

So fixing elections is the 'new norm' these days?

I am for it. We need to get Ford voted out.

As long as Ford doesn't win, who cares.

One can only hope 🙏🙏

Whatever it takes to VoteFordOut2022 im ok with

One can only hope!

Would be a great way to block progressives 😒

How about whether a similar pact in Ontario would benefit Ontarians instead.

I know that I would prefer that to the possibility of Ford getting a second term! VoteFordOut2022

DO IT!

For god’s sake, he cannot remain in power

Where are the real liberals?

PLEASE I NEED HELP AM STOCK HERE AT THE BELARUS 🇧🇾 WOODS PLEASE HELP ME I DONT WANT TO DIE HERE PLEASE 😭😭😭😭

It could and it should!

Huh, try it out 🤔

How the Liberals and New Democrats made a deal to preserve the minority government | CBC NewsThe confidence-and-supply agreement announced by the Liberal Party and the NDP this week was a long time in coming — and its success may depends on how well both sides keep each other in the loop. The next legally fixed federal election date is October 20, 2025 regardless of this deal. Another nail in the coffin. Cant a country invade us? Feels like we can do more while being destroyed from the outside in than we can from inside out. Atleast no one happily votes in invaders. The traditional name is a “coalition”.

NATO’s military spending target ‘arbitrary,’ but some boosts warranted: Singh - National | Globalnews.caThe question of NDP support for increased military spending comes after New Democrats and Liberals struck a deal expected to keep the Liberals in government until 2025. The last person that should comment on the military is this person.. NATO needs to be strengthened and Canada must play its part. Spoken like a true socialist that is anti military and anti police - until he needs them to protect him and his family! Our military needs proper modern equipment but we do need to rethink the mission. Fleets of UAVs, missiles and surveillance are better than expensive fighters.

How NATO — and Canada — could do a lot more to defend Ukraine | CBC NewsIt's become clear to all by now that NATO is not going to risk a Third World War by imposing a no-fly zone in Ukrainian airspace contested by Russian warplanes. But perhaps the debate over a no-fly zone has distracted attention from other actions that Canada — and what Russian President Vladimir Putin calls 'the collective West' — could take to help save Ukraine from Russia. How about calling for a ceasefire? Extending the work visas for refugees to more than Ukrainian residents? EvanDyerCBC The US proxy war has only destroyed the petrodollar and exposed Western racism beyond all doubt. Well played Biden, hope it was worth wagging the dog for. EvanDyerCBC This makes sense when defeating Putin is more important than human lives. It doesn't matter what solution would lead to less loss of life, the only good outcome is Russia taking an L. We truly are the good guys.
