Ontario health minister says access through OHIP 'never going to change,' one day after not ruling out privatization in system onpoli

Interim NDP Leader Peter Tabuns asked Sylvia Jones in question period today if the minister thinks patients should start paying for care they now receive asof right. However, she did not rule out - when asked - more of a role for private corporations to deliver public services, which already happens in Ontario's system.

Have you looked at the states and their health care system. No one except the rich will beable to afford care

Im all for a private sector.

In the UK they have both available and it works well. Those who can afford to pay into schemes similar to our benefits offered by employers and they have smaller private hospitals.

Except the best doctors will go to private practices leaving the rest of us who won’t be able to afford them, to be served by less qualified doctors.

They have to follow the Canada Health Act, since Sylvia Jones education is in radio, don’t think she has read the Act yet, or even understands it

Access is what the US has, if you can afford it. Saying access will continue isn’t a guarantee of M4A continuing.

Is your job just to repeat her lies or do you ever dig into the story, provide more depth? Of course not!! You're too lazy to investigate or you lean RW & just promote their lies!

She's a liar. Remember her diploma/experience is RW comms! She's a spin doctor POS! If she's so sure OHIP is good & we're fine then show us your mandate letter! That'll never happen b/c they are liars...all of them!

The access would be there; there would be nothing to access

I call BS on fordnation and SylviaJonesMPP Can’t trust anything that comes from this government😡 onpoli DougFordLiedPeopleDied DougFordIsDestroyingHealthcare DougFordWillDestroyOntario LiesAndDeceit

It's just that all the vaccinated, indoctrinated, mentally unstable will be working in public healthcare because they are too stubborn to move away from a toxic system. The private healthcare will be more successful and full of HCW's who value & respect bodily autonomy.

Oh, that was very clear from the 5% increase to the disabled. Govt, regardless of party, doesn't give two shits about anyone but themselves.

Yes, but they'll have private, no-wait health care for their wealthy friends, and we'll be waiting 10 hours in Emerg!

Here we go. Increased taxes and cuts to social programs

Free health care is why I'm here. If they get rid of it im moving south and want full reimbursement of my taxes I paid for healthcare

sylviajonesmpp is a liar. Investigate her now on_integrity !

It’s horrible to think you can go bankrupt/lifetime debt if you get sick. Or having to make a choice on bankruptcy or helping out relatives/close friend in life or death situations.

Access will remain... however public health facilities will start to close while more private facilities open up. Gaining access to public healthcare will be the biggest issue. Why do lowercase conservatives take us for such fools!?!

Stupid article Ohio covered privatization is the goal. Would improve our system.

Yup we will have access still but to very gutted system….access to it is not the answer!

the current system will depreciate the second you add a new tier of care, this old hag should get back to her bakery pr

Slippery slope. This is what happens when newcomers to Canada first learn more about the welfare system then the healthcare system and don’t get assigned a family doctor and go to the ER for everything AND bring the elderly to hospital as a type of daycare

What she forgot to mention is that they will render OHIP effectively useless!

Clearly you don’t understand private delivery “Privatization” can mean many things which is why media should stop using it. Insured services CAN & ARE being delivered by private providers.

She’s being cute. Access through OHIP may never change in itself but with reduced capacity it will have increased wait times and reduced accessibility.

Privatization doesn’t mean that delivery is not through OHIP, a world class example is Shouldice………google it🙄

They’re just saying anything at this point - they’ll still do whatever they want.

In a two tier system of course OHIP will stay that is no surprise and it certainly doesn’t rule out privatization

My question is things lpoked almoat same then why people gave Doug Ford even bigger victory? It is like Ontarians love getting screwed and want to lose everything good of Canada. Just want to be second grade version of US which got all bad of US and nothing good.

Taxpayers enjoy paying to read between the lines. Must be the suits way to be first through the gate, instead of a Florida or Mexican health vacation.

There should be zero privatization in when it comes to health care. You want to use a private clinic or anything like that go down to the USA. Improve our healthcare not take away from it

Based. Privatize.

Because they are planning a two tier system. Those that pay get better care the rest get wait times and care at the level we see now.

Not trustworthy

Fake News. She never said we were privatizing healthcare. The media and politicians did. Fearmongering...

That's because it would be illegal to do so.

Do you support socialist healthcare

Yeah because you know the government never lies.

Opinion | Ford government plans more low wages for women health care workersThe Ford government plans more low wages for women health care workers. Ontario continues to pursue a low-wage strategy for the female health care workforce, a strategy that is quickly demolishing health care in Ontario. Opinion by Xolisiwe Ndlovu The Ford government wants to privatize healthcare. They are intentionally making this worse. What a fake story. “Plans more low wages”. Is a complete fabrication LITERALLY 100% illegal. So that tells me this is a leftwing Propaganda PEICE.

Ontario health minister won't rule out privatization as option to help ER crisis | CBC NewsOntario's health minister isn't ruling out privatization in health care as the government looks at ways to deal with a major staff shortage straining hospitals across the province. First create the problem then implement the privitization...very cynical This has been the Ford Conservatives' plan all along: cut funding to the public health system, stretch it beyond its limit, replace it with privatized systems that'll make them & their corporate friends even richer than they already are, at the expense of the people. Shameful Remember when Mike Harris created a “crisis” in education only to fix it? Pepperidge Farms remembers
