Nishnawbe Aski Nation Deputy Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler stands for a photograph in Toronto on Feb. 14, 2013. pandemic has reached a remote First Nation in northwestern Ontario, a local health authority said Monday as it cautioned the virus would soon place additional strain on a social and health-care system poorly equipped to handle it.

He said the man is self-isolating at home, but said the emergence of the virus in Eabametoong is sounding alarms across NAN territory. The time-honoured advice to wash hands regularly, he said, will be difficult to follow in Eabametoong, which has been under a boil-water advisory since 2001. Dr. Natalie Bocking, a physician with the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority, said most Indigenous communities wrestle with a shortage of personnel and equipment at the best of times.

These remote areas need to treat anyone returning to their communities as we would people coming from overseas. They need to go straight home into a room and stay quarantined for 2 weeks.

Ontario students begin e-learning as COVID-19 closures continueStudents across Ontario begin online learning today, more than three weeks after COVID-19 shuttered schools in the name of physical distancing. Some virus will remain airborne. 2 M distancing is not enough. Wearing a mask or handmade one, or using alcohol, detergent, and eye drops like me. My simple, powerful secret methods for the coronavirus or flu virus are very effective. Ridiculous! Received a notice saying MANDATORY.... however.... special needs students require specialized equipment, assistance in the classroom, etc..! In some cases single parents are trying to keep the house running and/or don’t have the ability to help the child! No. E-Learning is something planned and designed for an entire year of carefully monitored course work. This is emergency remote teaching.
