The City of Greater Sudbury has yet to determine the status of the fire restriction with the municipal boundaries

The Restricted Fire Zone for Ontario’s Fire Region will be lifted today, Tuesday, July 11 at 4 p.m., said a Twitter message from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry . The Twitter message was confirmed by the MNRF Aviation Forest Fires and Emergency Services .

— Ontario Forest Fires July 11, 2023 The message encouraged people to "Use extreme caution and follow the Outdoor Fires Regulation when having an outdoor fire. #Thankyou for doing your part to help prevent #forestfires. Visit http://ontario.ca/forestfire for more info," said the posting. The fire zone restriction was first announced by MNRF on June 1 for virtually all of Northern Ontario.
