Despite a low risk for most of the Northeast Region, there was one new wildland fire confirmed by early evening Wednesday, June 26, according to a news release from the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
There is a pocket of moderate fire hazard north of Greater Sudbury and through the eastern portion of Algonquin Provincial Park. Cochrane has a high fire hazard with the surround area seeing a moderate fire hazard.
