Pocket of moderate hazard north of Greater Sudbury and through eastern portion of Algonquin Provincial Park

Despite a low risk for most of the Northeast Region, there was one new wildland fire confirmed by early evening Wednesday, June 26, according to a news release from the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

There is a pocket of moderate fire hazard north of Greater Sudbury and through the eastern portion of Algonquin Provincial Park. Cochrane has a high fire hazard with the surround area seeing a moderate fire hazard. Four wildfires are burning right now, two of note, the release adds.Northeast Fire Region There was one new wildland fire confirmed by early evening Wednesday, June 26.The fire hazard is low for most of the Northeast Region.
