One man dead after fire in southeast Calgary townhouse yyc

“He was quickly brought outside and care was transferred to EMS paramedics. Firefighters assisted with CPR in the ambulance and en-route to the hospital. Tragically, the patient succumbed to his injuries.” The fire was quickly doused and contained to its room of origin with minor smoke damage to an upstairs hallway, said Henke.

And while firefighters said they heard activated smoke alarms at the scene, there was no such device in the room where the fire broke out, she said. The cause of the fire is still being investigated by authorities that includes the routine involvement of the city police arson unit, though the blaze isn’t considered suspicious, said Henke.
