The opening round of the OHL playoffs saw little in the way of surprises as all of the higher seeds won their respective series and needed just 35 games total to do it. Ottawa Player to Watch: Draft-eligible Graeme Clarke scored five times in four games against the Hamilton Bulldogs in round one. Niagara Player to Watch: Acquired from the Generals in a deal that brought in overage defenceman Matt Brassard as well, Jack Studnicka led the IceDogs in scoring in the opening round against the North Bay Battalion with four goals and eight points. Oshawa Player to Watch: Overage Anthony Salinitri, who was a key addition from the Sarnia Sting during the regular season, continued his offensive production through the first round of the OHL playoffs. The veteran forward scored five goals in the Generals first round series win over the Peterborough Petes.
