In his moments of excruciating pain lying on the hospital bed, Justin Morissette replays Saturday evening's confrontation, wondering whether he made the right decision.

Morissette confronted a group of anti-gay demonstrators who were situated at the corner of Davie and Thurlow streets in the heart of Vancouver's LGBTQ community.

"He put his right leg behind my left leg, and with the full Nelson still locked in, wrenched my body into his leg until my leg snapped and broke in multiple places and I fell to the ground in agony," he said. When he got to the hospital, he learned his tibia and fibula were broken and his knee was dislocated.

CTV is no longer a news network. It’s a leftist propaganda machine. No balance and no attempt to report both sides of the story.

I think that freedom of religion refers to individuals being permitted to believe and practice any belief in a magic creature they wish as opposed to being required to support a state religion requiring belief in a particular magic creature. That's all.

Christianity has been around for over 2000 years. Islam has been around for almost 2000 years. What gives you the right to stop these ministers or Imams?

Is there any video of the altercation? Specifically of the events leading up to this?

So he got beat up and will have a messed up leg for the rest of his life because he couldn’t handle a dummy believing dumb things....No one is impressed

Good. Don't assaulted the men of God. I hope the preacher was not hurt by this violent maniac and could preach the word of God freely.

How about telling us what those protestors said, so we can determine for ourselves if it was homophobic or not. Freedom of religion is still a protected human right, if anyone wasn't aware.

It’s regrettable that one has to resort to confrontation I order to stop the hate speech.

As Jesus famously said 'Break the legs of those who inconvenience you!'

As right as he was to oppose these people who he believes are bigots, he had no right to put his hands on them. They have a right to defend themselves and their property.

So he committed an assault, those he assaulted reacted and this is the narrative that chooses to run with ? Guess I can’t be surprised These are the same people too stupid to know the difference between a protest and a riot

It's on him. People have the right to peacefully protest. He confronted them.

lol wtf?

Vancouver man’s leg broken in confrontation with anti-gay street preachers: policeVancouver police said they were called to Davie and Thurlow streets, in the heart of the city's historically gay village, around 8 p.m., where 'a group of people using a microphone and amplifier were preaching about religion and anti-gay chants.' How this is still happening in 2020 is sickening me. These people are so disturbed. I wish JustinMoris a quick recovery - and endless thanks for standing up to this hatred 💙 These evangelist idiots are real Godly. America is calling evangelist, Facists these days. play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
