A police investigation revealed the cause of the crash

An August crash at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Kohler Street that killed one person has resulted in no charges.

The crash, which happened on Aug. 30, involved two vehicles, a silver Nissan SUV driven by a 90-year-old and an silver Dodge pickup driven by a 28-year-old.An investigation by Sault Ste. Marie police has concluded that no charges will be laid. "The investigation revealed the Nissan was stopped at the stop sign on Kohler Street at Wellington Street East and the pickup truck was eastbound on Wellington Street East," a release issued by police Wednesday afternoon said. "The Nissan then made a left turn from Kohler Street onto Wellington Street East, failing to yield for the Dodge pickup truck, resulting in the pickup striking the SUV.
