Maija Nenonen, 21, was fatally struck by vehicle in London, Ont. this past April

Police confirm that no charges will be laid in the death of Sault Ste. Marie native Maija Nenonen, who died as the result of a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision in London, Ont. April 11.

The 21-year-old Ivey School of Business student was fatally struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a townhouse complex in the 900 block of Western Road where she resided. "A thorough investigation was completed into this tragic incident, and has concluded with no charges laid," said London Police Service spokesperson Kathy Leblanc in an email to SooToday Thursday. "No other information will be shared out of respect for the victim's family."

Nenonen began her time at Western University four years ago as a health science student in 2018, transferring to Ivey in 2021.
