All school bus routes previously disrupted when the English School District suspended its contract with Gladney’s have been restored.

The school board suspended the company’s contract February 11 due to safety and operational concerns, affecting a large number of bus routes from St. John’s to Mount Pearl, Paradise, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips and CBS. All affected routes will be served by existing contractors. The NLESD says some students may even recognize familiar drivers now working under other contractors.

Some buses used by Gladney’s have been inspected and approved and are now operating under the direction of different contractors.

I recall our old high school bus back in the 80s. It was written off in Quebec and sent here to carry us little Newfies to school. I recall the fights caused by overcrowding, and the numb ass-cheeks from sitting on the edge of the seat for the entire run. What a rig.

All buses will get minimum attention needed. Not good. Kids need safety!

NLESD Continues to Restore Busing to Metro SchoolsThe Newfoundland and Labrador English School District has restored more bus routes following the suspension of... Wish I had a picture of the old jalopy that took us to and from high school back in the 80s. Our old bus reminded me of the song by Men at Work. Traveling in a Fried out Combie. Never mind the highly excitable driver with zero experience behind the wheel of a bus. LOL How unsafe can a bus be being the heaviest thing on the road? Really? Unless its the brakes, then not much else. You should see the buses we went on in the 70's and 80's. We all lived, and we over crowded the buses bigtime, standing up in the aisles.

Metro Police Arrest Suspect in Connection to Centre City HomicideA man has been arrested and charged in connection to a homicide in the centre city of St. John's. 21-year-old ... Wasn't he one of the ones charged with gun charges last year . Fucking punk going away now. See what happens when u let these dirt bags out after being charged with something violent. Why was he out of jail!? He may have murdered this man but the blood is on the hands of the Judge and Justice system, that allows violent individuals who don’t adhere to conditions of release to continue to roam free. They released him and now someone is dead. 👏 👏👏 Its time for a complete overhaul of our system. This is why people need to vote with logic over emotion
