With the NBA making plans to reopen team practice facilities as soon as May 8, the NHL still hasn’t figured out exactly when — or how — it’s going to follow suit.

The NBA issued new guidelines Monday about what the “safe and controlled” environment will look like for voluntary workouts at team facilities. It said buildings in regions where government restrictions are no longer in place may open as soon as May 8 for up to four players at a time. That’s why the timing ultimately hinges on how the league decides to approach the next phase — namely, if some teams will be allowed to open before everyone is in a position to open.

This should be viewed as more of a general roadmap than a specific set of instructions with commissioner Gary Bettman already on record about the NHL’s willingness to adjust on the fly depending on the information it receives from leading health experts and governments.

reporterchris this plan will not work. a teams ability to practice is dependent on the states they’re based in. Virginia’s stay at home order doesn’t end until June 10th.. so it would be illegal for the caps to hold practices. This isn’t gonna happen

reporterchris Get over it folks. SPORTS ARE DONE!!!!

reporterchris Stay shut. No one misses you all
